What Is Reiki?
Reiki is not
a substitute for regular veterinary or medical care.
Reiki
(pronounced ray-key) is a gentle hands-on healing technique. The word comes
from two Japanese words, Rei and Ki meaning Universal Life Force. Simply
put, Reiki is the channeling of Universal Energy
(Life Force) for the
purposes of healing.
T he
healing takes place on all levels, physical, mental, emotional, and
spiritual. Reiki is both powerful and gentle and can be used as an aid in
treating any type of illness.
We are
all, animal and human, alive because this Universal Life Force flows through
us. Reiki works with this Life Force to help with the natural healing
process within all living things.
Reiki
can be used alone or as a complimentary therapy along with traditional
western and veterinary medicine.
The
roots of Reiki lie in ancient origins and were rediscovered by Dr. Mikao
Usui. Reiki was brought to and nurtured in the United States by Mrs. Hawayo
Takata.

The
principles of Reiki are a good guidepost for all of us to follow:
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for
today, do not anger.
Honor your
parents, teachers and elders.
Earn your
living honestly.
Show
gratitude to every living thing.
